With the excitement of a new year’s arrival, it comes to no surprise that travelers too are teeming with excitement. Theirs? It’s a shortlist of some of the world’s best destinations. From exotic beaches, high mountain towns, to small streets tucked away in cities left to be discovered — it’s another year of adventure. 2017 brings forth an opportunity to cross off bucket-lists and create new memories. I asked 7 travel bloggers their plans, bucket lists, and ultimate destinations for 2017. Check it out.

“Japan is at the top of my bucket-list for 2017! Being based in Dallas, it’s just a quick 13-hour non-stop flight to Tokyo! I’m so excited to explore their culture and eat lots and lots of Japanese food!”

“Croatia and Greece are already planned for next year, and I am so excited to head there in the early summer with my husband. I’d also love to make it back to Asia (Tokyo and Indonesia are top of the list), so hopeful to hop over to that side of the world again soon! Formentera is one other spot we are definitely going to explore in 2017. Dubbed “Ibiza’s hippy little sister,” it looks like quite the Spanish dream.”

“I want to visit a continent I haven’t been to yet so my focus is in and around Africa this year. Morocco, Egypt, Jordan, Dubai, South Africa, Namibia, Mauritius, and Seychelles.”

“After being so far across the world the past year in places like Asia and Australia, I’m really looking forward to exploring a few destinations closer to home this year! I have a wedding to attend in Banff, Canada which is the perfect excuse to explore snowier territories. I’m also dying to do a Southwest United States road trip and tick places like the Grand Canyon, Moab, Marfa, and Antelope Canyon off my bucket list.”

“I’m looking forward to exploring a few new countries as well as returning to some old favorites this year. I’ve got my eye on Japan and Peru, for their cuisine and culture. I think it’s also a great time to get back to Croatia, especially lesser known spots along the coast, and I’d love a return visit to Bordeaux, my new favorite city in Europe.”

“2016 was a crazy transition year for me. From having a full time job to quitting and travel blogging full time. It has been an adjustment but I’ve never been happier. For me, it all clicked during my visit to Hong Kong, my first time out of the United States. And ever since, I haven’t stopped planning my next adventure. First stop in 2017 is Australia! I’ll be driving across the country so stay tuned for that! Also on the agenda are Miami, Cuba, the Maldives, Italy and Scotland. Some bucket-list spots I really hope to get to this year are South Africa and India. Can’t stop, won’t stop!”

Excited for Kathmandu & Pokara, Nepal — “The enchanting Himalayan mountains are a place my husband and I have dreamed of visiting for as long as we can remember. The endless outdoor activities, the delicious Nepalese food, rich history, warm people and overall zen vibes seem to be the perfect combination of adventure and serenity.
We will be trekking in the Annapurna region this January [considered Nepal’s off season] – and hope that the winter weather will be gentle on us. Namaste!”
