On a recent trip to Colombia, I found myself smitten by the design I found. A mix of natural tones, with an emphasis on well-done simplicity, created an atmospheric feeling. With a collection of design hotels across the country of Colombia, it was so interesting to find each hotel doing something different.
It was in the hotels that I found inspiration, especially detailed pieces placed in the rooms. Casa Pombo, for instance, stuck to heavy furniture pieces with brighter linens to lighten up the interior space. Outside, a lot of rattan pieces were placed to match the surrounding palm trees. The color palette was always a combination of woods, whites, and some pop of color. When I created this inspiration guide, I drew a lot from these rooms.
Here’s a look at my inspiration list from the time in Colombia!
