If there is anything one longs for this time of year in Jackson Hole, it’s a cozy place to retreat to after a day in the cold. The snow is delightful, don’t get me wrong, but at some point a warm fireplace, a hot cup of tea, and cozy bed needs to be in store.

Jackson Hole is an obvious destination for the best winter activities (more on this to come), and the hotel choices are plentiful. With options ranging from super luxurious to budget, and locations in town or Teton Village, making a decision about where to stay can be complicated. I personally like to be in downtown Jackson. Though town is a twenty-minute drive to the ski resort, it offers amenities for when you’re off the mountain. This time in Jackson Hole we stayed at the White Buffalo Club, which lived up to its slogan, “the best address in Jackson Hole.”

As we entered the hotel after a quick direct flight, nothing was more welcoming than the warm space. Opting for the hotel shuttle service, our driver at baggage claim greeted us first at the airport — this is one of the biggest treats to add on to your travels. Upon arrival to the hotel, the bags were taken immediately up to the room, and the check-in was quick.

The room was spacious, something you’ll want if you’re traveling with snow gear. The hall into the room opened up to a living space with a view of the neighboring snowcapped mountain, of which I loved waking up to each morning. The bathroom had a soaking tub and a lovely rain-shower, both came in handy when it was time to defrost our tired bones. Settling in each night included a few Netflix marathons after spending the day doing numerous activities and the comfortable bed was incredible.

Staying at the White Buffalo Club comes with a number of key benefits. We took advantage of the complimentary ski shuttle on the days we went to the mountain — saving us from having to rent a car on the trip. Downstairs offered a full gym and day spa, making it easy to get a little exercise in before the day’s start. The acclaimed, on-site Steakhouse was also a great solution to a yummy (and convenient) dinner just downstairs from our room.

Overall, the White Buffalo Club was a great place to call home during our time in Jackson Hole. The concierge team was so helpful whenever we needed recommendations, and made our stay special.

  1. I have been to Jackson Hole to snowboard a few times and I have always been struck by its beauty. I love how when you drive up it is so flat and then the mountains just shoot up in front of you, seemingly out of nowhere! Love your post. I can’t wait until I can visit again.
