I am very excited to launch a new series on the blog called “Design Series.” The concept came from finding products and brands that suited the travel space and was doing something different. Whether it was being apart of a bigger story, like giving to charity or perhaps a smart design, there have been brands that embody a forward-thinking product.
The first brand to kick off this design series is RALLIER. A New York-based company who specializes in womenswear, creating dress that embodies ease and sophistication while giving back.
The part that I love about RALLIER, is the founder Olivia Rose Fay’s passion for giving back. For each dress sold, school uniforms are given to local schoolgirls in areas that have gender inequality. Her inspiration? She found a study in Kenya that showed girls who didn’t have a uniform likely wouldn’t go to school. By providing the uniforms, it decreased school absence by 64%.
By sourcing local materials, the dresses are made with the finest quality. Each dress has its own unique design, yet falls under being both grit and grace. I immediately fell in love with the design as it reminded me of my time in Portugal. In Portugal, the color tones are soft and elegant, edges both sharp and rounded, and RALLIER was just that.
This past week I took one her dresses, the “Jennifer” on my trip to Belgium. The dress was cut perfectly, and made for a great day dress to wear casually, and even to night where it could be dressed up. The Japanese cotton meant when folded in the suitcase is kept its form, and hardly needed any ironing. It was the perfect travel dress.
Take a look at her beautifully designed dresses here.
*Thank you to RALLIER for sponsoring this post. As always, all opinions are own.
