Hello 2016! Another year has turned, and I am quite excited for what the next chapter looks like. I have a lot to share for this year, and wanted to let you guys know first!
+ In 2015, I was on the road 212 days, and took over 50 flights — it was humbling and so exciting. Being on the road full time and running a business at the same time can be challenging. With time differences and often no connectivity, I realized a little extra hand of help would be great. I am really excited to share our resident contributor, Natasha Pleis, is coming on full time as a Content Editor! She’s a dear friend, and I am excited to have a travel buddy. You’ll know her work on the blog, like this post on cabins that was one of the most shared posts from last year, or her travels in Amsterdam that made us fall in love with the Netherlands. So a big welcome to Natasha!
+ After receiving multiple emails on requests for packing list posts, there is going to be a bit more of a fashion element on the blog. Packing a suitcase comes hand in hand with travel, something that is unavoidable. Keep your eyes peeled on the “In My Suitcase” page and shop favorites on the new shop page!
+ We are going to focus more on meaningful travel. This past year I experienced Chai Lai Orchid, and it changed the way I looked at travel. I was really introduced to the fact that how we spend our travel dollars can impact others in a meaningful way — whether that be supporting the local economy or empowering social businesses.
Where Bon Traveler is headed…
In 2016, I am going to continue to pursue my passion of boutique luxury travel that is centered around culture and adventure, with new destinations like Finland, Mexico, and of course more Europe. There’s some exciting travels in store for the year, that I can’t wait to share with you. We will be returning to some favorites like Montreal and France, showcasing more in-depth guides and insight. I’d love to hear where you’d like to see Bon Traveler go, be sure to drop a note below!
What else I am up to…..
+ This project has been the most exciting to be a part of. Myself and the team at Will Journey have been working passionately to create a site that is for travelers. It’s about in-depth itineraries, where you get to spend your time exploring rather than researching — something I know I am personally excited to use. Stay tuned for the launch here, or follow along on Instagram in the meantime.
+ My dear friend Jaharn of Mister Weekender has invited me to be a monthly guest blogger on her incredible blog. I will be sharing more of my favorite destinations in the US on her blog, like this post on Moab or Yellowstone.
Thank you for the incredible support, and looking forward to sharing this year’s adventures with you! Happy New Year!
As always, travel well and travel often. Xx
