You could hear the desert — the sound of silence, you felt like you were a part of it — the shifting colors of the sun against the red rocks, and it was mesmerizing. Welcome to Moab Under Canvas located near the diverse landscape of Utah's cherished Arches National Park.
As I started to plan out my trip to Moab to go see the famed Arches, I struggled trying to find somewhere to call home while there, well I found just the place.
Mornings started with the warm sun on my face as it rose in the distance above the towering mountains, of course with coffee in hand. Our Safari tent was the abode that gave us an experience of a lifetime. You felt like you were one with nature, placed right in the middle of it. Glamping is the only way to describe the stay at Moab Under Canvas, and needless to say it was memorable.
We chose to stay in a Safari tent as it had a full bed with linens, rug covered floor, chest of drawers, and a lovely wood-burning fireplace. The front area of our tent turned into our hang-out spot at night where we watched the open skies filled with shooting stars and galaxies for as far as the eye could see. All of the teepees and tents were lit up with lanterns that speckled the desert landscape with glowing objects.
Moab Under Canvas offers a multitude of ways to stay in Moab, whether it is in a teepee, a Safari tent, or the luxury tents that include ensuite bathrooms as well. We loved staying in the Safari tent as it was only a few steps away from the luxury bathrooms that included private rooms with shower and toilets. There was always someone at the check-in tent to help out with any needs, along with a complimentary charging station for electronics (no outlets in tent), and coffee all day long.
I can only say that Moab Under Canvas made all of my camping dreams come true. I was comfortable, felt well rested, and all the while was in the middle of the desert and natural habitat of Moab, Utah. Staying in these canvas tents offered an opportunity to unplug and escape into another world marked by unfathomable beauty.
