I have always said location, location, location when it comes to choosing a hotel. Well, the Donovan in Washington, D.C. has this nailed perfectly.
With stunning views over Thomas Circle, a few minutes walk to the White House, and not far from many more points of interests, the Donovan is a great place to call home. Checking into the hotel, it was easy to see the modern design was beckoning the hip traveler through touches like hanging chairs, and a sleek lobby.
The hotel as an abode of amenities on site that even make it an attractive option for having a "stay-cation." The rooftop pool is the place to be seen during the day and night whether you're there for cocktails at the bar or laying poolside. On the bottom floor, Zentan, a Japanese-inspired restaurant, is serving up so yummy dishes — so good we ate there twice.
The rooms are perfect for the traveler who is on the go. They're designed with comfort in mind and amenities to help you get through either a work trip or vacation. The bed is almost too comfortable — it made it difficult to want to jump out into the hustle and bustle of the city. The closet was the perfect size to spread out our clothes and be organized and not feel crammed into the space. I loved waking up each morning to the view over Thomas Circle.
If you're looking for a hotel that is great to come back to after a busy day in the city, the Donovan is a definite win.
