When you think a “Grand” hotel, what do you think of? I see marble floors, stunning decorations and an over the top concierge service. When in Athens look no further than the Hotel Grand Bretagne. This luxury collection hotel lies in the heart of Athens and demands a visit whether it is to stay or dine. The hotel has over the top views of the Acropolis, an indulgent spa and a rooftop pool that has equally spectacular views.
A hotel of tradition and history, the Grand Bretagne is rich with many experiences. Afternoon Tea of course is a classic choice down on the main floor or perhaps a cocktail at Alexander’s Bar or my personal favorite dinner with a view at their GB Roof Garden Restaurant. The day can be spent indoors or outdoors with many cozy areas to wind up and read a book and makes for a great escape from the hustle and bustle of the city.
The rooms, now I do not know where to begin, other then they fit the description of “grand.” Some of the rooms have panorama views of the city or the interior courtyard which is beautiful as well. Each room or suite is carefully decorate to the Greek culture and heritage and is luxurious.
Overall the Grand Bretagne suits more then enough of any luxurious needs. The hotel is grand in splendor and service. Historically this hotel has been around since the 1800’s and has more stories to tell then the average history book. A place not to miss in Athens.
*Visited the hotel, as always all opinions are my own.
