To kick off the New Years I hopped in a small single prop plane with some friends and family down to Joshua Tree to spend time out in the middle of nowhere. It was a time to celebrate, be outdoors, and get the first of the year kicked off with adventure. Joshua Tree is a case of polar opposites. In the summer the sun is scorching and in the winter it snows. We came down to a balmy 38 degrees with a fresh layer of snow across the valley. This was one of the most unique destinations I had seen in a long time. The Joshua Trees marked the valley with shapes and sizes of all the sort and there were rocks balancing on one another everywhere. We hiked, scrambled up and down boulders, and enjoyed clear skies with ridiculous views.

There couldn’t have been a better way to start the year…
