Having never been to Palm Springs before, my expectations were all over the map. I had seen photos of the 70’s era buildings, the motel style hotels, and the bright, colorful buildings.
We drove up to the Sparrows Lodge, and was completely blown away by this quaint lodge. Think boutique, rustic, modern-barn set in the heart of Palm Springs. Designed to be down to earth, and low key, the Sparrows Lodge creates a destination that you will not want to leave. There are 20 rooms that line the interior of the hotel, each having their own unique design.
The main attraction? The architecturally, stunning open-barn space that equals as a lounge and bar in the afternoon and where you’ll be going to get your morning breakfast. Towards the back of the lodge, there is a fire pit to hang by at the end of the night.
I was mostly surprised by how many people stuck around during the day — it’s hard to leave. They’ve created a playful spot for the artists and creatives to come retreat under the infamous palm trees of Palm Springs. Each room has it’s own characteristics, yet similar features like the butterfly chairs and rain showers.
Though the atmosphere and design may be on point, it’s the staff there that make it that much better. Each so friendly, willing to give their favorite go-to spots for drinks or dinner, they made our stay one to remember. At night we sipped on sangria and lounged away in and around the jacuzzi. During the day, we took advantage of the custom made Sole bicycles and rode around town and the neighborhoods to check out the architecture.
