If you guys follow along on Instagram, this last week you probably saw a weekend of playing tourist in my own city. Traveling all over the world is always unique, but I love exploring my own city, especially being in San Francisco. San Francisco really is the city of 1000 views and everywhere you go there is something new to see.
For Saturday, I decided to do a hop on – hop off tour of San Francisco with City Sightseeing. I had never been on a bus tour (ever) and couldn’t have asked for a better way to see San Francisco. With blue skies and sun shining, I hopped on the open bus tour “Golden Gate Bridge tour with Sausalito.” It was like riding in one large convertible with great views as the seats were elevated. There were a few stops along the city like the Marina District, Palace of Fine Arts and the Golden Gate Bridge viewpoint. We then crossed the Golden Gate Bridge to get to the Vista Point. We stopped here, got off, and took some great pictures. Many people decided to walk the bridge but we were too excited to get to Sausalito so we got right back on after taking photos.
Arriving in Sausalito was stunning. The little houses on the hills made for drastic scenery overlooking the bay and we arrived right by the main center of town. We walked around for two hours, getting coffee and a bite to eat in the downtown. When we were ready to go back to the city, we conveniently walked right back to where we were dropped off and hopped back on.
Seeing San Francisco by way of this hop on – hop off bus made the time simple, stress free, and fun. We loved our tour guide who was animated and told us details about the city we didn’t even know about. Being able to get on and off on the stops created the opportunity to see everything but also have the freedom to stop where you wanted to if there was something you wanted to experience more.
It truly was great to see the city as a tourist and appreciated iconic landmarks like the Palace of Fine Arts, the Golden Gate Bridge, and Sausalito!
