If you’re headed to Scotland, then you’ll want to have a look at these 10 amazing Edinburgh Airbnbs. From locations in the city centre to the new town, there are endless options for easy booking.
On my previous trip to Edinburgh, I stayed at this incredible Airbnb that was a short walk to almost everything. From the flat, there was a beautiful view of the city and I loved having a spacious room to come home to. Depending on the kind of trip, I’ll often opt for a few nights in an apartment and then book a few nights in a hotel. I find the combination to be a good blend of both experiences.
So after browsing through the many options in Edinburgh, I wanted to share my curated list of Airbnbs. If you’re looking for more Scotland posts, head here to the destination page for all of the guides and more.

If this isn’t swoon-worthy, then I don’t know what is. Everything about this place is my dream home and could only imagine waking up here. The pops of color, the flooring, and furnishing are truly wonderful.
5. A Chic Apartment in a Historic Building.
For those looking to be well located and have a comfortable space, then this is my pick. I love the full sized kitchen, dining room, and living space to hang out between the day’s adventure.
6. 16th Century Dovecot Cottage.
This is for those who have ever wanted to stay in their own historic cottage. It’s a bit further from the city center (around a 20 minute walk), but oh-so-charming for a unique stay.
7. A Modernized Flat in the New Town.
Its central location between the new and old town (and near Carlton Hill) put this Airbnb Plus as one of the top picks in Edinburgh. Well outfitted with everything you’ll need for a stay, it’s a sure win for a booking.
8. The Castle View Apartment.
Can we appreciate this view for a minute? Seriously well located and a verified Airbnb Plus means a great stay.
9. Modern Home on the Royal Mile.
An art-deco style makes this one bedroom and one bath stunning. It’s well located and had some incredible reviews from guests.

One of those locations that are tucked away from the main path, this city retreat is a win for those who want somewhere a bit quieter.

PS — Are You Booking a Trip Soon? Use My Booking Checklist!
These are the sites I use most to book my own trips. Using the links below is a great way to support Bon Traveler’s travel journalism at no extra cost to you. If you need help organizing your itinerary, get my free travel itinerary template here.
1. Book Your Flights
Use Skyscanner to find the best flights. It searches 100s of airlines and websites across the globe to ensure you’re not missing out on any route options or deals.
2. Book Your Accommodations
Use Booking.com for hotels and guest houses. They have the biggest inventory and consistently offer the best rates.
3. Book Your Tours & Experiences
Use Viator or Get Your Guide to find the best tours and experiences. They are my favorite tour search engines. I always check both as their inventory varies depending on the destination.
4. Book Your Car
Use Discover Cars or Rentalcars.com to find the best car rental deals. I recommend comparing rental agency reviews on Google to ensure you are booking with the best company in that destination, as the reviews are often more accurate than the car rental search engines.
5. Don’t Forget Airport Lounge Access
Get a Priority Pass membership to gain access to 1,400+ VIP lounges and airport experiences worldwide. The Priority Pass app is the first thing I check when I have a layover. I’ve been a member for over a decade, and having a comfortable place to relax before and between flights makes air travel so much more enjoyable.
6. Don’t Forget Travel Insurance
I never leave the country without travel insurance. It provides comprehensive protection in case anything goes wrong (ie. illness, injury, theft, and cancelations, etc.). I use it frequently for my travels to stay protected.
My favorite companies that offer the best coverage and rates are:
- World Nomads (best for all-around)
- Safety Wing (best for frequent travelers)
