It’s no secret that Lisbon is at the top of the list of cities to visit in Europe, and with one of my close friends, we traveled there to see just why. With our first time to Lisbon, we had little knowledge of the city, and wanted to be in good hands for our first visit.
We checked into the Four Seasons Hotel Ritz, and was immediately taken by the grandeur of this hotel we would be calling home for a few days. As we walked in, it was hard not to overlook the gorgeous flower arrangement at the end of the entry and the large windows. Greeted with a smile, we got into our comfortable room with a view, and couldn’t wait for our Lisbon adventures.
With a central location, we had access by foot to all things Lisbon. But there were a few other matters to take care of first…
Every morning started the same, and each day ended likewise. Mornings were spent over a few cappuccinos and a lovely breakfast downstairs in their restaurant, where the buffet offered plenty of choices for a delicious breakfast. One afternoon we escaped to the rooftop, not only for the 360 degree view of the city, but a perfect spot to workout in an incredible gym. At the end of the day, we made our way down to the spa, for a dip in the pool and a steam to prep for another day of adventuring — a truly relaxing way to finish a day off.
We were recommended that one morning we try a one-of-a-kind experience in Lisbon — a vintage moto-sidecar tour. So off we went, one in the bucket, and the other on the bike, to go explore Lisbon’s iconic sights. With stops at Belem, viewpoints over the city, and other key places, we found the perfect introduction to the city. Not to mention we giggled and enjoyed our time riding in style. When we retreated to the room, it was hard not to get straight into our robes and enjoy the patio. The room was spacious, and the closet made for a perfect spot for our stuff suitcases we had trekked there. The room was stocked with a perfect minibar and of course a coffee machine as well. The bathroom was beautiful, and fully equipped for all of our needs.
Overall, our girls getaway to Lisbon was highlighted by our time at the Four Seasons Hotel Ritz, and it made for a memorable time. A bit of indulgence and relaxation made the trip comfortable.
