It’s about this time of year that I start to dream of a winter getaway. California is home to some incredible places to escape for some fun in the snow and these incredible Airbnbs are reason enough to go.
Whether you’re located in Northern California or Southern California, there are destinations for both. From Lake Tahoe to Sierraville, to Idyllwild to Lake Arrowhead, these Airbnbs are some of the most charming cabins to snuggle up in. Personally, I’m a huge fan of an A-frame cabin, so I included quite a few of those to choose from. I always take a look for those extra perks like a fireplace or even a hot tub if it’s going to be an extended stay.

With a huge backyard and a classic A-frame cabin, this getaway near Lake Arrowhead is a dreamy escape. It’s the perfect weekend away for anyone in Southern California. I love the mid-century design, and it’s an Airbnb plus so you’ll have everything you need for an extended stay.
Truckee, California is one of my favorite places to go during the winter months in Northern California. The downtown is incredibly charming and you are close to some of the best ski resorts. This cozy home is super close to downtown and really well designed for a winter trip.
The enclave town of Idyllwild is one of those winter destinations that doesn’t always come top of mind. But this Boulder Lodge may be just reason enough to travel here. The house was actually built into a boulder, creating a focal point for the living room and adding some seriously cozy vibes.
The Little Black Cabin located in Carnelian Bay of Lake Tahoe may be one of the best rentals I’ve seen thus far in that area. Besides being well-appointed, the entire feeling of the place has this Swedish-cabin feel to it. I can seriously see myself cozying up in this cabin for a snowy weekend away.
The only way to describe this perfect cabin by a creek is classic. It has that classic warmth to it with a stone chimney and set amongst the woods. And imagine how great that hot tub will feel when it starts to snow!
I feel like Lake Arrowhead may be home to the best A-frame cabins in California. So I had to include this modern gem on the list because of look at this design! The perfect blend of modern furniture and warm tones. Two bedrooms and two baths perfect for a family getaway.
Located at Constellation Creek Resort in Sierraville (in the heart of Northern California’s Sierras), there are individual cabins to book. Right along the creek, these cabins are for those looking to disconnect and get out in nature. It is also an ideal spot to go stargazing as you’re out in the middle of the great outdoors.
This is a classic A-Frame right in the heart of Tahoe. If you’re looking for a central location that can sleep several people (up to 8!) this one is a great fit. The interior is the perfect blend of warm, cozy, and modern.
I know Sequoia National Park can be a great destination for winter adventure. So I wanted to find a cottage nearby that would make for a great home base for adventures. How beautiful is this one? Right along a creek and tons of natural light make this my top choice for the area.
For the design-lover’s, this home is the dream. It’s one of the most stunning mountain homes I’ve seen yet in California. Built right into nature, this home is one for those looking to be immersed outdoors.
