Known for its towering Tramuntana Mountains, turquoise waters, vibrant cuisine, and standout hotels, Mallorca is undoubtedly one of my favorite places I’ve traveled to. After spending two months on the island, I’ve put together the ultimate list of the best hotels in Mallorca. With a wave of new properties opening in recent years, the island offers an array of incredible stays. Whether you’re looking for a luxury adults-only resort stay, a more intimate boutique experience, or a family-friendly stay, the island has it all.

Whenever I put together recommendations for Mallorca, I always like to highlight the size of the island: it’s quite large. You could easily spend several weeks and still not see the whole island.

For this reason, I always recommend splitting time between the island’s west side (near Deià or Valldemossa) and the east side (near Santayní). Spending time on the coast and then in a village gives a great feel for island life. Then, I always recommend ending with a couple of nights in Palma, for a vibrant city experience before flying out.

Lastly, I’ve grouped the hotels below by location so you can easily follow along with my 7-10 day Mallorca itinerary!

Editor’s Note: Mallorca Map and How I’ve Organized the Hotels

The map below gives an overview of the main areas I’ve used to organize the hotels. I always recommend spending some time in all three areas, as they truly are unique and, when combined together, make for an incredible trip.

The Tramuntana Mountains define the island’s western side and give its villages and dramatic landscape a distinctly different feel from the eastern side, which is more arid and flat and is where the island’s most famous calas and beaches are located. Finally, Palma, the island’s bustling and energetic urban core, is definitely worth visiting.

• Es Racó d’Artá in Artá ($$$, Artá) — Located right outside of Artá, Es Racó d’Artá is one of the dreamiest hotels I’ve been to in Majorca — a true haven for anyone craving wellness and a deeper connection to themselves. If you’re looking for a hotel that promotes a sense of wellness and self-connection, this is the place for you. From the moment you arrive, the experience feels tailor-made, with options like meditation sessions, spa treatments, and wellness workshops that fill your days with intention. The infinity-edge pool gazes out over a lush mountainside dotted with olive trees, the minimalist rooms whisper calm, and the staff’s heartfelt welcome—especially to our 10-month-old daughter—made this serene retreat feel like home.
• Cap Rocat ($$$$, Cala Blava) — Cap Rocat is a castle-like hotel that is all about seclusion and privacy, making it a dream spot for couples craving a romantic escape. privacy and seclusion. While it’s not strictly adults-only, the vibe—set within a sprawling nature reserve with a marine-protected coastline—feels tailor-made for grown-up getaways, inviting you to disconnect and soak in Mallorca’s beauty.
• Can Ferrereta ($$$, Santanyì) — I had the pleasure of visiting Can Ferrereta when we were living just down the road in Ses Salines for two months, and this 17th-century gem turned adults-only retreat still lingers in my memory as a standout stay. With its sleek pool, full spa, and prime location near Mallorca’s best beaches, it’s a chic haven—though teens over 14 are welcome, little ones aren’t, and it’s worth noting it’s a seasonal stay, open only from March to October.
• Ikos Porto Petro ($$$$, Portopetro) — Located along Portopetro’s southeast coast, this sprawling luxury resort boasts 319 rooms and suites, blending all-inclusive ease with Mediterranean flair—think five outdoor pools, Michelin-starred dining options, and a sleek spa. Set between two sandy coves near Mondrago Natural Park, it’s a family-friendly haven that invites you to unwind by the sea or explore the island’s charm, sparking visions of sun-drenched days that stretch into starry nights.
• Finca Serena ($$$, Montuïri) — Surrounded by Montuïri’s rolling olive groves, Finca Serena offers a countryside escape where rustic elegance meets a wellness-focused heart. With cozy rooms and serene grounds, it’s a retreat that invites you to slow down, breathe deep, and find inspiration in the simple beauty of island life.
• Cal Reiet Holistic Retreat ($$$, Santanyi) — Just outside Santanyi village, this boutique holistic retreat offers 15 rooms across a 19th-century manor, surrounded by gardens and a pool where wellness is the central focus. With yoga shalas, locally sourced plant-based dining, and a mere 3.5 km from Cala Santanyi beach, it’s a sanctuary that calls you to recharge and reconnect in Mallorca’s laid-back southeast.
• Fontsanta Hotel Thermal Spa & Wellness ($$$, Campos) — If your looking for an elevated wellness stay, Fontsanta is for you, kicking off with luxe private transport provided by the hotel to whisk you immediately into relaxation mode. Claim a daybed by the pool or dive into the Balearic Islands’ only thermal water spa, then savor farm-fresh dishes at the restaurant—think vibrant flavors that match the hiking, yoga, and horseback riding adventures the hotel can set up for you.
• Can Simoneta ($$$$, Canyamel) — Located on a stunning cliffside in Canyamel, Can Simoneta is a truly elevated escape, where sleek rooms with stone accents and neutral tones put a modern spin on Spanish charm. The pool’s ocean views and plush white daybeds call for lazy, sun-soaked afternoons — it’s the kind of place that feels like a luxurious secret you’ve stumbled upon.
• Pleta de Mar, Luxury Hotel by Nature ($$$, Capdepera) — Set in the quiet countryside of Capdepera, Pleta de Mar is an adults-only haven with 30 suites framed by woodlands and beautiful sea views. With three pools (one heated) and spacious suites featuring private terraces and tubs, it’s a stylish yet easygoing stay.
• Hotel Rural Predi Son Jaumell ($$, Cala Mesquida)— Food lovers, this one’s for you: Hotel Rural Predi Son Jaumell serves up a refined culinary experience that’s worth the trip alone. Picture a Mediterranean dream with its terracotta roof, lush gardens, and breezy terraces—those 300-year-old rooms? They’ve been beautifully updated, blending history with comfort in the most inviting way.

Best Hotels on the West Side

• Belmond la Residencia ($$$$, Deiá) — I had the great pleasure of experiencing the Belmond la Residencia in Deiá on my latest trip to Mallorca. Arguably the best luxury hotel in Mallorca, this Mediterranean oasis truly sets the scene for an unforgettable experience in Mallorca. It’s perched right on a breathtaking hillside that offers sea views and picturesque olive groves. When it came to traveling with our baby, Belmond la Residencia was an amazing option, and they even had an on-site babysitter who was able to watch her while we enjoyed a romantic date night.
• Son Bunyola Hotel & Villas ($$$, Banyalbufar) — One of the most anticipated property openings in 2023 was Son Bunyola. It was created by Richard Branson, who’s been working on the project for decades. An idyllic countryside escape, the hotel is located within a UNESCO World Heritage site and set in a 16th-century finca amidst 1,300 acres of olive groves and vineyard. There are only 26 rooms here, set around the stone courtyard and stunning tiled swimming pool.
• Castell Son Claret ($$$, Es Capdellá) — We stayed here on our first trip to Mallorca and I’ll never forget the first time we drove the transportive, palm tree-lined driveway upon arrival. This castle-like hotel is truly something out of a fairytale, and this 19th-century manor is situated in the middle of tree-covered rolling hills. This hotel has only 43 suites and rooms, which gives the property a sense of intimacy and exclusivity. Be sure to try their estate olive oil while you’re here.
• Four Seasons Resort Mallorca ($$$$, Formentor) — One of the newest hotels in Majorca, the property is set on Formentor’s pine-fringed peninsula within a 1,200-acre private estate, this iconic luxury resort offers 110 rooms and suites, reborn with a glamorous edge after a 2023 renovation. With seven dining spots, a pristine beach, and a pool framed by UNESCO-protected Serra de Tramuntana views, it’s a retreat that inspires you to chase adventure—hiking, boating, or simply basking in Mallorca’s wild northern coast.
• Grand Hotel Son Net ($$$, Puigpunyent) — Housed in a 17th-century estate beneath the Tramuntana Mountains, this boutique hotel features 31 rooms and suites, where baroque grandeur meets modern luxury amid lush gardens and a serene pool. Once a grand family home, it’s now a pink-hued sanctuary in Puigpunyent Valley, urging you to sip coffee on a terrace and take in the island’s beauty.
• Son Brull Hotel and Spa ($$$, Pollença) — With only 23 luxurious rooms across the entire property, Son Brull offers a very intimate and luxurious experience in a more rural part of Mallorca. The on-site Restaurant 365 is an award-winning eatery that has an eight-course tasting menu as well as à la carte offerings. The infinity pool is surrounded by sunny lounge chairs, and the newly refurbished spa offers a wide array of all-natural treatments.
• Hotel Corazón ($$$, Sóller) — Alive with bohemian spirit, this boutique hotel near Santa Maria del Camí and just 5 miles from Port de Sóller features 15 rooms, each bursting with eclectic design and soulful views of the Tramuntana foothills. Run by artist duo Kate Bellm and Edgar Lopez, it’s a creative retreat with a pool and intimate vibe, beckoning you to unwind and soak in the artistic energy.
• Mirabó de Valldemossa ($$$, Valldemossa) — Considering that Mirabó translates to “beautiful views,” it should come as no surprise that this stunning hotel offers epic views of the surrounding mountains of Serra de Tramuntana. There are two outdoor pools on-site, along with several hiking trails that you can explore. There are only a handful of rooms at the property, and though it is possible to bring children, this accommodation is geared more towards couples.
• The Lodge Mallorca ($$$, Sa Pobla) — Near the area of Pollença, The Lodge is one of the newest hotels to open on the island. From the group that does Finca Serena, the stone building has all of the Mallorcan charm. Set with 24 suites that offer incredible views into the rolling hills and olive trees, you’re close to Alcúdia Bay.

Best Hotels in Palma de Mallorca

• Sant Francesc Singular ($$$, Palma de Mallorca) — Seeking something more modern in the heart of Mallorca? Sant Francesc is a five-star hotel located in Palma’s Old Town. The contemporary artwork adds a modern touch to the more classic and traditional architecture, with a rooftop terrace. This hotel is definitely on the smaller side, having only 32 rooms and 10 unique and lavish suites.
• Hotel Antigua Palma ($$$, Palma de Mallorca) — We stayed here on our most recent trip to the island. The hotel is an elegant and sophisticated oasis that offers a prime location for those looking to stay in the main hub of Mallorca. From the courtyards, the cozy corners throughout the property, the spa, and the rooftop restaurant, I truly can’t stress just how amazing this place is. The service is top-notch, and even just spending an evening in the monochromatic suites while ordering room service will immerse you in true luxury.
• El Llorenç Parc de la Mar ($$$, Palma de Mallorca) — Home to the 1 Michelin Star restaurant, DINS Santi Taura, El Llorenc Parc de la Mar is one of the top hotels. It has an infinity pool that has incredible views of the Balearic Sea and is known for being one of the best rooftops on the island. The location is amazing being so close to Parc de la Mar, so you’re in proximity to everything in the area.
• Can Bordoy Grand House & Garden ($$$, Palma de Mallorca) — A 5-star hotel tucked into a quiet neighborhood of Old Palma, Can Bordoy is a luxurious stay in Mallorca. The design here is contemporary, with several elements of vintage decor. What makes this hotel even more special is that it was once a former private home and then a convent school. Today, as an elevated home known for its suspended glass plunge pool, Can Bordoy is one of the best hotels on the island.

What to Know Before Traveling to Mallorca

When is the Best Time to Come?

Since summer is the busy season in Mallorca, the crowds can become pretty intense. I highly recommend avoiding Mallorca between July and August. Instead, try to visit May to June or September to October for nice weather and smaller crowds.

Do I Need a Rental Car?

Yes! A rental car in Mallorca is a must in my opinion. Public transportation can get crowded and confusing, and the freedom to explore more hidden and rural areas is best accomplished with your own car.

When to Book?
