Mallorca is known for its turquoise waters, vibrant cuisine, and endless olive groves. It is without a doubt one of my favorite places to travel to, and our trip this summer was better than I could have imagined. That said, there is a lot to consider when planning a trip to Mallorca, and you’ll want to do so in advance.

Accommodations are definitely one of the most important parts of planning a successful trip to this idyllic island, and there really is something for everyone. I feel like you could easily spend several weeks and still not see the whole island. My recommendation is always to split time on the west and then on the east side of the island. I think a place on the coast and then in a village would give you a great feel for island life. Then don’t forget about Palma as well for a beautiful port city.

Whether you’re looking for a luxurious adults-only resort or a more intimate and low-key spot, my picks for the 12 best hotels in Mallorca are here to help ease the stress of the planning process!

The 12 Best Hotels in Mallorca

What to Know Before Traveling to Mallorca

When is the best time to come? Since summer is obviously the busy season in Mallorca, the crowds can become pretty intense. I highly recommend avoiding Mallorca between July and August. Instead, try to visit May to June or September to October for nice weather and smaller crowds.

Do I need a rental car? Yes! A rental car in Mallorca is a must in my opinion. Public transportation can get really crowded and confusing, and the freedom to explore more hidden and rural areas is best accomplished with your own car.

When to book? Boutique hotels can sell out fast here, especially in summer, so I recommend booking as far in advance as possible.

How many days? When planning your trip, I would recommend a minimum of five nights in Mallorca. That said, a full week should be plenty to get a feel.
